We didn’t want to leave! We had such a lovely week at Lake Harwinton. This gorgeous house was exactly what we needed to unwind and relax. The outlook over the lake was just devine. Absolutely spectacular when it snowed. The included facilities are fantastic. We had everything we needed. A TV with Netflix etc, cooking utensils and some spices and oil etc, cleaning supplies, first aid, bathroom supplies, laundry facilities, extra blankets and towels! It was all perfect. We felt like we lived there and didn’t want to have to pack up to leave. Denise and Lawrence were excellent hosts - flexible and caring. We will definitely be back. I’d love to see the lake in Autumn (Fall).

The cottage is extremely well appointed and stocked with pretty much anything and everything you could need or want. It is situated on a very beautiful and peaceful part of the lake that makes it extremely easy to relax and unwind, whether by swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding or just floating on the water. We highly recommend this property.

We absolutely loved our stay here. Location was fantastic, the lake beautiful and so relaxing. Denise and Lawrence are fantastic hosts. Communication was great and every last detail was thought of. We highly recommend this rental.

Mon Reve was truly magical. My significant other and I spent the weekend here for our anniversary and had an amazing time. We had great weather visiting in October and spent most of the time on the back deck looking out over the lake. Denise and Lawrence answered all of our questions from how to use the speakers on the back patio to setting up a fire in the fire pit by the lake. We loved the small touches of the place that made it so welcoming and the hospitality of our hosts that made us sure we’d have to stay here again sometime. Definitely a one of a kind home to stay at.

My partner and I truly enjoyed our stay at this home. Not only were the hosts responsive and accommodating to whatever we needed, but the house and the location exceeded our expectations. This place is what one would consider “a home away from home.” It was clean, welcoming, and supplied with everything you could possibly need to enjoy your stay. The small touches the hosts had for guests were such kind gestures and you can tell that they really thought about everything. In addition to the home, the view was absolutely beautiful. Denise and Lawrence’s place was wonderful. We stayed for a week and really enjoyed the location. It was very nice being able to use the kayaks and bonfire. The fall colors were beautiful at the lake. Town was close and easily accessible! The baby gates were very secure and locked well for leave of mind with my 3 year old! The deck out back was great for morning coffee and relaxation as well! The place is decorated nice and cozy! We enjoyed Halloween movies with the kids on the tv and morning cartoons! We also enjoyed the quirky board games that took us back to the 80s! Lots of laughs! Thanks for a great stay!

We had a wonderful family vacation at this home! My husband and I traveled with our two little kids, almost 1 and 4 years old. The house was clean, cozy, and well stocked with everything you could need, making traveling a breeze! Communication before and during our trip was excellent, and everything was labeled and well marked. They even had baby-proofing stuff (gates for the stairs, cabinet locks, door handle locks, etc) which was a huge added bonus for us! Each day we utilized the kayaks, swam in the lake, played on the beach, and lounged in the yard - and having all the towels and blankets there was great! The little details did not go unnoticed. We had a fabulous time relaxing at this lake house and I highly recommend!

What a charming home! My friend and I were looking for a meeting place in between NYC and Boston and this place delivered. The house was clean, well stocked with everything we needed, close to shops and restaurants but still felt a bit removed, and literally right on the lake. Communication was great and check in was super easy. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. We are already talking about going back again.

This hidden lake house was a perfect antidote to a hot NYC summer. We loved the outdoor patio and got out on the water kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming daily. You can relax by the fire at night and make s’mores. This house is a 10 minute drive from any amenities you’ll need to shop for with nice farmer’s markets nearby as well. The house was supplied with much if not all kitchen items you’ll need for cooking. We’d definitely return!

What a gorgeous space! The views of the lake were so calming, and Denise and Lawrence thought of everything a traveler might need or want, leaving notes in helpful places for things like how to use the TV (with surround sound!) and lots of thoughtful touches (like yummy snacks and super soft blankets). My son loved making hot chocolate in the machine they had (we don't have one ourselves), and we had a great time using the fire pit for s'mores (the ingredients for which were kindly provided).
The only downside to the stay was not the hosts' fault. We think pets must have been in the home at some point in the past, and my husband, who is allergic to them, had a mild reaction in the living room. But I should have asked about that ahead of time and didn't.
Overall it was a lovely stay, in a gorgeous setting, with extremely thoughtful touches. We are so grateful to Denise and Lawrence for a wonderful getaway. Thank you.

This is a lovely and peaceful setting that is truly a relaxing place. The quiet allowed the bird songs to seem all the more pronounced. It was accurately portrayed in the listing and communication with our hosts was great. We hope to return. Absolutely terrific.

We had the most magical, wonderful week at this cottage. As soon as we walked into the adorably appointed, sparkling clean cottage, our breath was taken away by the perfect lake view right out the large windows. It was as if our city tension level went down a million points instantly. Denise and Lawrence left explicit notes and tips for everything we could possibly need, and there was more than enough space to put all of our things (and we’re overpackers!) What was also so special is that although it felt like we were staying in a cozy home for sure, it didn’t feel like we were among other people’s stuff which was really nice. In that way, it was more resort-like. Everything in the home was thoughtfully labeled and placed, and clearly we’ll taken care of. The area is great - immediately surrounding the house it’s rural and lake feeling, but 5 minutes away from every convenience you could need. If the cottage weren’t already booked for the rest of the summer, we would for sure be back again this summer (we checked while there to see if we could extend our stay or book again later in the summer, that’s how in love we were! We will one thousand percent be back!!

Denise and Lawrence have a beautiful, fully updated cabin on a quiet peaceful lake. We won the weather lottery and woke up every morning to bright sunshine streaming through the wall of windows downstairs. We spent nearly everyday floating on the lake, utilizing the kayaks and paddle boards, or cooling off in the central ac. The nights were spent around the fire pit or grilling on the deck. Do not hesitate to rent this lovely oasis - you will have an amazing stay.

Our family of 4 had a wonderful time on Lake Harwinton. The house is beautiful and we felt right at home. Waking up to the sun rising over the lake each morning was heavenly! Hosts provided all of the basic amenities we needed and communication was excellent. We especially enjoyed the state parks and hiking trails in the area, fishing right off the dock in the backyard, and enjoying local restaurants. Our young kids loved Arethusa Farms and Action Wildlife. The hosts provided excellent recommendations for area activities and places to eat. We were looking for a quiet place to spend time enjoying nature, and this house provided just that!

First I like to say Denise and Lawerence were great hosts. Their hospitality was was great. The lake house which is a hidden gem in the Airbnb community was amazing. It was an honor and a privilege to stay at one of the nicest, cleanest, and quietest places in Connecticut. My family and I can’t wait to do it again. Beautiful views, private beach for the kids, and all the water and land accessories to go with it. The fire pit on the lake is a nice touch. Delicious places to eat everywhere around the area. Denise and Larry’s home is perfectly located in a quiet area. House was exactly as described. My wife and I walked around the lake everyday and daydreamed of owning our own home on the lake. Location was perfect very close to town. Larry is very responsive when we texted with questions. We will definitely love to stay here again.

This lake house is incredibly clean with a beautiful deck overlooking the lake. The owners are meticulous and offer lovely welcome gifts. We caught (and released) probably two dozen fish and enjoyed the boats. A wonderful vacation.

Beautiful, relaxing spot! Wonderful extra amenities, snacks, supplies and super clean. Access to paddle boards and kayaks was amazing and were well-used throughout our stay. Check-in and communication was easy and hosts were very helpful, highly recommend!
